wooden angels

For the last 4-5 weeks, my mom and I were making these wooden angel ornaments at handicrafters. For those not sure what handicrafters is, is a group of ladies who meet once a week at my church and make all kinds of stuff. Afghans, jewelery, holiday items...when someone has an idea, we make it! And we make lots of each thing! Then at our annual bazaar in October, the items are sold and the money goes to the church. It's an awesome group and it is something that just "fits" for me. My mom also goes and we have fun there and have made friends with a bunch of the "old ladies" :)

Anyways, we made these angels (an idea from the leader of the group)...we didn't think it would take so long, but they were tedious! From gluing all the sticks in place, to the HAIR (it is HARD to do that hair!) to the flowers, to the ribbon, it took awhile, but they are finally done!

Side note: this picture was taken and then we showed them to the head lady and she told us we forgot to put the "tassles" on them! So we ended up going back and adding ribbon hanging down on the front (like the one in blue in the far left bottom)...forgot to take an after picture.
